The Mission
Adam's Eden Genetics exists to preserve and develop plant genetics that commercial markets have abandoned or overlooked. The work is generational — measured in seasons, not quarters.
Every breeding program here starts with a clear purpose: what problem does this solve, what trait is worth preserving, what does the world lose if this line disappears? If the answer isn't clear, the program doesn't start.
Corn — Midwest Bloodline Double Sweet
A multi-year open-pollinated sweet corn breeding program developed from a complex cross of Jimmy Red Dent, Gemstone Corn, Golden Queen Sweet, and Silver Queen Sweet. The program is working toward a stable variety that combines exceptional sweetness with rich color expression — gold, silver, purple, and red on the same cob.
Currently in year three of selection. The supersweet gene is being introduced. Named variety and seed availability to be announced at harvest when the line proves stable.
Methodology
Selection criteria are defined before planting, not after harvest. Primary traits drive decisions. Secondary and tertiary traits are tracked but never override the primary selection target. Every generation narrows. Every generation is documented.
Save points are built into the program — S1 seeds created at meaningful milestones to protect years of work against loss. The goal is a stable, nameable variety that performs reliably and can be grown true from saved seed.
Availability
No genetics are listed for sale until a line is stable and the regulatory environment at launch is understood. Announcements through direct channels when ready.
